Researchers or Academic Institution

Institutional Review Board Approval (IRB)

Academic Institutions and Researchers making requests for must have their IRBs signed by an administrator or institutional officer.
If a researcher is exempt from an IRB, they can download our publicly available usage data files available here.
Expedited IRB from a signed administrator or institutional officer for customer specific data.
Full Committee IRB from a signed administrator or institutional officer for customer specific data.

Model Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

Qualified researchers making requests for energy usage data must sign a model Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to receiving the requested information. Department directors or higher-level faculty members are required to sign the NDA. Please click the button below to download the NDA, sign it, and return it to your SDG&E Request Sponsor.

Local Governments

Terms and Service Agreement
- Local Governments making requests for aggregated and/or anonymized customer energy data are required to complete and sign a Terms of Service agreement. Department directors or higher-level government representatives are required to sign the Terms of Service. Please download the Terms of Service, have it signed, and return it to your SDG&E Request Sponsor.

Local Governments making requests for energy data who plan to share the information with an agent, consultant, or other external representative of the Local Government must have that representative sign an NDA Certificate. Please download, complete, and return this document to your Request Sponsor.
